If you're ready to secure your child's future through 1:1 mentorship, daily dialogue, creative projects, and optional (but rigorous) SAT prep, our full-time and part-time virtual middle and high school programs are designed for you.
About 3 minutes. Your child's grade, their interests, and what isn't working right now.
20 to 30 minutes with our admissions team to work out whether TSE is right for your child.
Your child sits in on a real class with real students before you commit to anything.

"Michelle and I owe so much to Michael, TSE's founder. He was the key motivator and inspiration behind our educational choices for our son— and we are immensely grateful to him. If you have children, please do your future self a favor: listen to what Michael Strong says about education—and act on it. You’ll be glad you did."

"There’s no cookie-cutter way my children are expected to learn. When they’re in a program that lets them discover how they learn best and what fits their needs, how can you ask for anything better?"

"As a successful entrepreneur married to a successful C level media executive, both Lizzie and I were challenged, in a good way, when our 16 year old son asked why there were no schools or education paths that focused on the the individual and/or entrepreneurs...education doesn’t focus on the real world nor does it prepare our youth for how to be your best self… I shout from the mountain top about TSE because it is at the forefront of education"
"My daughter has ADHD and in this program she can concentrate and stay focussed the whole time!"
I MEAN THIS IS LIKE AWESOME—TSE IS THE BEST THING EVER, THIS SCHOOL HAS MADE ME THRIVE, LEARN SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Michael Strong has created the most sophisticated online school I know of"
"I have noticed my daughter’s endless belly laughs and the joy in recounting her day to me. She is a naturally happy and confident kid, but this program has further expanded and elevated those attributes through her school experience, which is quite amazing!"
If you're feeling uncertain right now, you're not alone. Almost every parent who joins us felt that same mix of hope and hesitation.
Is this model too different? Will my child stay motivated? Can virtual school really work?
What they find—what we have seen again and again—is that when students feel intellectually challenged, emotionally supported, and free to build things that matter to them, they grow in ways no test can measure.
In the video above, a parent who once asked those same questions shares how our model made a difference in her child’s life. We hope her story helps you feel what we already know: this works. And it just might be what your child’s been waiting for.
After 35 years working with students across public, private, and charter schools, we kept seeing the same cracks—bright kids bored out of their minds, students with learning differences mislabeled or ignored, and curious thinkers buried under meaningless work. So we stopped patching the system—and built a new one.
Your child needs a school that prepares them for life—not just exams. Traditional schools focus on grades, ignoring the unique abilities that matter most in the real world. At TSE, your child will still ace the SAT, but they’ll also win national wrestling competitions, fundraise, and pursue work that sets them apart.
Your child needs a school that fosters social and emotional growth with academics. Traditional schools isolate students, exposing them to bullying and loneliness that erodes confidence and joy for learning. At TSE, children build lasting friendships through clubs, daily dialogue, and creative projects.
You want your child to think critically and take pride in their education. Traditional schools limit exploration and create disengagement. At TSE, students write novels, build 6-figure businesses, and study hard—because they choose to, not because we tell them to.
Your child sits in on a live class with real students and a real guide. No payment, no contract, no obligation. If it isn't right for your family, you'll know before you've spent anything.
We hold daily, synchronous classes primarily online. Students also stay connected via Slack and a student-run Discord server for study groups and socializing. Optional in-person trips and gatherings provide additional face-to-face opportunities.
Kindergarten, Lower Elementary (1–2), and Upper Elementary (3–5) students enroll full-time.
Middle School (6–8) and High School (9–12) students may enroll either part-time or full-time.
International students participate alongside local peers through synchronous online classes.
We tailor course blocks by grade and availability, ensuring flexible scheduling for all.
For novice students, we incorporate regular movement breaks to help limit continuous screen exposure. Middle and high school students receive a 10‑minute break during each class session. Our guides actively monitor student engagement and can intervene if they notice a student is distracted—by asking a question to refocus them. If the behavior continues and disrupts the class, the guide may remove the student from the session, follow up with the family, and arrange a meeting to address the issue.
They talk throughout class, engaging in debates, group problem-solving, and Socratic discussions. They connect on Slack and a student-run Discord server for study groups and casual chats outside class. We also organize in-person trips to places like Greece and major U.S. cities, boosting real-life friendships.
We support a healthy lifestyle through electives such as “movement,” support in physical activities through projects, e.g., martial arts, and other student-chosen initiatives.
